Dear Telugu Families of Mountain House,
Happy New Year to you and your loved ones! 🌸
I hope 2026 begins with good health, happiness, and new opportunities for every family in our community.
I would like to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the past board members and volunteers who have worked tirelessly over the years to build and nurture Mountain House Telugu Community. This organization stands today because of their dedication, selfless service, and commitment to our shared values. We are deeply thankful for their contributions, and we look forward to carrying forward the strong foundation they have created.
It is truly an honor and a privilege to serve as President of Mountain House Telugu Community for the 2026 - 27 term. I am deeply grateful for the trust you have placed in me and our entire executive board. Together, we are committed to strengthening our bonds, preserving our rich culture, and creating meaningful opportunities for every member of our community - across generations.
Over the past several weeks, our board has been thoughtfully discussing and designing several exciting initiatives that we will be rolling out over the next two years. Our vision is simple but powerful: to bring our community closer, increase participation, and ensure that every member, children, youth, adults, and seniors, feels connected, supported, and valued.
Here is a preview of the program areas we are enhancing, each led by dedicated directors and volunteers:
Sports & Fitness - year-round sports activities, tournaments, and marathons to promote health, teamwork, and community bonding.
Digital Assets - strengthening our website, social media presence, forms, and digital infrastructure to improve communication, transparency, and accessibility.
Community & Culture - organizing cultural programs and festivals that celebrate our Telugu heritage and bring families together.
Donations & Sponsorships - building strong relationships with sponsors and supporters to sustain our programs responsibly and transparently.
Public Relations & Outreach - memberships, senior citizen engagement, employment support, community outreach, and sharing our stories with the wider community.
Legal, Compliance & Governance - ensuring MHTC remains well-governed, compliant, and aligned with best nonprofit practices.
Education - Telugu language learning, financial and tax education, SAT guidance, career pathways, and college counseling.
Spiritual Programs - opportunities for spiritual growth, reflection, and community connection.
Health & Wellness - initiatives focused on physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Our goal is to create opportunities where almost every member of our Telugu community can participate in one or more of these programs - whether as a learner, a volunteer, a mentor, or a leader. Our children and youth will play a particularly important role, not just as participants, but as future leaders who will carry our values forward.
This is not just a board-driven effort, it is a community-driven journey. Your ideas, involvement, and feedback are essential to making this vision real.
Please stay tuned! We will be sharing several communications starting January 2026, including details on each program, volunteer opportunities, and timelines.
Thank you once again for your trust, encouragement, and support. I look forward to working with you and serving you over the next two years as we build a stronger, more connected, and vibrant Telugu community together.
With gratitude and warm regards,
Murali Kante
President, Mountain House Telugu Community (2026–27)
